The city of London is famous for its many bridges, described in song from nursery rhymes to The Clash. This cruise down the Thames is the ideal way to see the the beautiful overpasses including the London Bridge, Tower Bridge and the modern pedestrian Millennium Bridge. You will also feast your eyes on other stunning modern works of architecture such as London's City Hall and the tallest building in the EU, The Shard. This ride down the river also acts as the transportation to our next stop, the Tower of London.  Once you disembark you will walk over the massive Tower Bridge to our next stop the Tower of London.

Tower of London

Built by William the Conqueror after his conquest of England. The Castle represented the power and new rulers of London after the Saxons were defeated. By the turn of the 12th century the tower became a prison, a role it would keep all the way until after World War II. As the best fortified structure in London, the Tower has played a massive role in English history. The building has been under siege many times and has acted as a center of politics and bureaucracy for nearly 1,000 years.

The Tower of London is most famous for its brutal treatment of famous political prisoners. These prisoners included queens, princes, foreign enemies and more. Many of those imprisoned and later executed were those connected to the famous, or depending on who you ask infamous Henry VIII. In addition to his former council Thomas More, the King sent two of his well known six wives, Anne Boleyn and Katherine Howard to the Tower. All three were later beheaded.

Crown Jewels

Stored and secured in the Jewel House, the Crown Jewels are the elaborate symbols and coronation regalia of the English Monarchy. These 140 royal objects are bedazzled with over 23,000 stones. Throughout the 800 years of English Monarchy, the Jewels have been held in different locations and are used during the royal coronation ceremonies.  Most of the original regalia was destroyed during the English Civil War by Oliver Cromwell when the Monarchy was temporarily abolished. The collection was rebuilt after the Crown was restored in 1660 but there are a few pieces which remain from the 12th century. With our VIP Skip the Line access will be able to examine these jewels in detail getting up and close to the regalia.
