After meeting your guide in central Barcelona, you’ll travel to the scenic foothills of Montserrat Mountain on an air-conditioned bus, before boarding the cogwheel train to ascend the steep slope of the mountain. Once at the top and above the cloud line, you’ll take a guided tour of the 11th-century monastery, before having free time to hike, enjoy the views, or shop in the local market.

We recommend a bottle of water and sunscreen. Outside of the summer months, it can be fairly cold at the top of the mountain. For this we definitely recommending bringing a light jacket.

We had a great day out. Our tour guide Montse was so sweet and informative. Mountains were just stunning. We did the tapas and wine tasting. Very good wine. Highly recommend!

Our guide Carlos was awesome - knowledgeable and engaging. The views were spectacular even on a cloudy day. Winery and tasting were outstanding! Perfect blend of “free time” and guided time throughout the day. Highly recommend!!!

Laura did such a great job as our tour guide. Most of the group was admittedly dragging a bit today and the energy was low to start. She did a great job of making the tour fun and interactive. By the end, we all were having a fun time! Would recommend this tour to a friend.

The monastery visit was well beyond expectations. We could have easily spent a couple more hours there. Accolades to our guide, Ivan, who made every moment magical by sharing his expertise on and passion for Catalunya. The wine tasting was icing on the cake.

We went on our trip yesterday and had a wonderful day. Our tour guide Berta was friendly and tried to get to know all the participants. Montserrat is very beautiful and the history behind it is amazing Wish we could have spent more time there though. We only had about an hour and half of free time. The wine tasting and tapas was also fun. The winery is a small family owned operation. We liked the three wines we were given.

I was a solo traveller and realised I was likely to arrive late as I took a wrong train. When I phoned the desk your staff could not have been more helpful, checking that I was on the right train finally and personally bringing me to the bus with just minutes to spare. Then I was with Luca, who had a kindness and gentle charm and also very knowledgeable. His ability to remember everyone's name amazed me as I never say him check notes and as a solo traveller I felt very safe and well looked after. You have an excellent team and I will recommend your tours. Thank you for making this tour the highlight of my trip

Our trip to Monserrat was phenomenal as the views were breath taking and our tour logistics were planned perfectly. Susanna and the tour team were engaging, personable and had the entire tour group learning about Catalan culture and laughing. Would highly recommend this tour!

Our tour guide was Gus and he was fantastic. He was so informative, but in an entertaining and tangible way to understand everything. He was kind, patient, able to keep us on time and to have fun. Our winery tour was wonderful, and we enjoyed all the information. It was my birthday that day, and it was a special celebration for me. Thank you Gus very much, we will book tours through you next time we travel. Bob and I wish you well.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our trip to Montserrat with Yerai as our guide. Yerai did a wonderful job of sharing anecdotes and information about the area on our way to Montserrat complete with corny jokes that kept us entertained as well as informed. Once at Montserrat he kept us organized, made sure we were aware of all of the things we could do with our free time there, and was open to helping with both group needs and the personal needs and interests of everybody on the trip. We were not originally aware of Montserrat as an option when visiting Barcelona but this trip turned out to be one of the highlights of our time there. The location itself is breathtakingly beautiful, the local cheeses, honeys, and pastries are not to be missed, and going with Yerai guiding us and taking care of logistics made it possible for us to just relax and enjoy the experience.

Our tour was great! Lorena and Gus were excellent tour guides who provided indepth information not only about Montserrat but about the history of Barcelona in general. They were fun and informative. Montserrat itself is just incredible - very beautiful unlike anything I've ever seen. The winery tour and wine tasting/tapas was also very interesting. My only complaint would be they should provide more wine!! The tour company in general is very organized - the directions to get there were clear and there were no issues. All in all it was a wonderful day and I highly recommend it to anyone.
