During the 1840s and 1850s, thousands of majestic redwoods were cleared for those seeking to strike gold. </p><p>The Armstrong Redwoods are named after Col. James Armstrong who purchased this land for future preservation and saved a remarkable slice of American nature for us all to enjoy. Before entering the grove, enjoy a stop for coffee and a light breakfast (not included). It's a good chance for a little pick-me-up before you explore the trails.</p><p>Once in the Redwoods, you'll have at least 90 minutes to explore the area. Embrace the tranquility of the forest and majesty of these millennia-old tees. Measuring over 300 feet tall with some over 1,000 years old, the coastal redwoods are a natural wonder. Through the trails, you'll also find a seasonal waterfall adding to the park's beauty. </p><h3>Drive through California Wine Country </h3><p>You'll hop back in your luxury minibus for a drive through the beautiful Californian countryside towards the Russian River Valley in Sonoma County. While heading past the hills and vineyards, learn about the history of California wine making and how this became one of the world's most popular wine regions.
