Now home to shops and a luxury hotel, the entire city block was the headquarters of Ghirardelli Chocolate until 1963. After a little introduction to your e-bike, your guide, and the rest of your small group, you'll strap on your helmet for a journey through the Golden City. </p><p>A city known for its many hills, people often ask is San Francisco good for biking? Thanks to pedal assist and bike lanes across the city, an e-bike is the ideal way to see San Francisco.</p><h3>The Panhandle and Golden Gate Park</h3><p>As you depart the bustle of the marinas, you'll reach the narrow stretch of trees and paths know locally as the "Pan." See impressive redwood and cypress trees as you pedal towards the grand entrance to Golden Gate Park. </p><p>In Golden Gate Park, take in the natural beauty as you head down the paths of the third most visited park in the United States. With the windmills, statues, and even a Japanese Tea Garden, there's always something to see as you pass through this beloved San Francisco hangout. You'll follow the Wiggle bike route all the way to Haight-Ashbury.</p><h3>Haight-Ashbury Neighborhood</h3><p>Depart the tranquility of Golden Gate Park and follow your guide into the neighborhood of Peace and Love. You'll see where the Grateful Dead, Jefferson Airplane, and Sly and the Family Stone created music based on the philosophy and culture of the hippies in the 1960s, along with a diverse range of shops, restaurants, and murals that maintain the neighborhood's history. Your storytelling guide will point out famous locations that changed art and music forever. </p><h3>Painted Ladies, The Castro, and the Mission District</h3><p>San Francisco is full of color and vibrancy and you'll see the best of it as you continue your journey through the city. In Alamo Square, take in the iconic Victorian houses painted in stunning pastels, including the home of the Tanner Family from the <em>Full House</em> TV show. These are the city's most famous residences, known affectionately as the "Painted Ladies." </p><p>Color is raised to a whole different level in the Castro. Home to one of the country's oldest and most influential LGBT communities, the rainbows across the Castro are full of meaning and culture. Next, your guide will lead you to the Mission. Named after the site where Spanish missionaries set up their first church, the area is now home to much of San Francisco's Latino roots, restaurants, and history. These two diverse neighborhoods let you see a whole different side of the city.</p><p></p><p>At the end of your tour you'll wave goodbye to your friendly guide, and they'll be happy to give you some great local tips about where to eat and what to do with the rest of your time in the city.</p><p></p>
