Depart Paris and visit the historic Reims Cathedral
Meet your guide at 12 Avenue des Ternes in Paris and board the minibus for a 90-minute drive to the Champagne region. Arrive in Reims and receive admission to the Gothic cathedral, a UNESCO World Heritage site and the traditional coronation location for French kings.
Tour a family winemaker's estate and property
Next, drive through the vineyards of the Épernay countryside to a local vintner's estate. The winemaker, often a third-generation expert, will take you on a tour of the property. Discover the details of making champagne, from pressing fresh grapes to corking the final bottles.
Tasting champagne and free time in Épernay
In the tasting room, the vintner introduces you to at least three different types of champagne. Learn the particularities of Blanc de Blanc, Rosé, Brut, and Demi-Sec. Following the tasting, take 1 hour of free time to explore or purchase lunch in Épernay.
Tour the prestigious House of Nicolas Feuillatte
After lunch, visit the prestigious House of Nicolas Feuillatte, the number one champagne brand sold in France. You walk among the giant oak barrels of fermenting wine, see the state-of-the-art machinery, and taste three of their amazing champagnes.
Pay homage to Dom Pérignon and return to Paris
On the drive back into Paris, make a special stop at the hillside village of Hautvillers to visit the resting spot of Friar Dom Pérignon. The guide explains the legend of the humble monk who perfected the champagne-making process. Arrive back in Paris in the early evening.
