Alberto our guide did a wonderful job. He keep us on time without being overbearing. Nice commentaries on the bus trip. A long day and Alberto helped to make it a good experience.

Fast highlights

The positives: - the guide from City Wonders who was absolute TOP (Alberto(?) if I remember correctly): entertaining, polite, clear, knows a lot, engaged with his audience. - bus company/driver: on time, quiet ride, safe. One cannot ask more. - the walk on Vesuvius: fantastic scenery, a little bit of volcanic smoke, truly impressive. - smoothness of the whole day: everything organised as good as possible in a highly touristic setting. The negative: Carlo, the official Pompeii expert guide: was not engaging, rushed thru everything like he was forced to work there, I did not learn a single item from him - in fact he made some doubtful historical assumptions: below average at best (not really TRG's fault, but they are the organiser of this tour). A better experience here would result in 5 stars.

Best tour of our visit!

Our tour to Pompeii and Mount Vesuvius was one of the absolute highlights of our trip to Italy. From start to finish, everything was perfectly organized. The bus was clean and comfortable, which made the ride enjoyable and relaxing. The tour guides were fantastic—knowledgeable, engaging, and full of fascinating details that really brought the history to life. Our bus driver was excellent too—safe, smooth driving through some pretty winding roads. The ruins of Pompeii were breathtaking—it’s hard to describe just how incredible it is to walk through a city frozen in time. If you’re visiting Italy, this should be at the top of your list. After Pompeii, we headed up to Mount Vesuvius, and the views from the summit were stunning. Highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Rome!

Sonia was a fabulous guide who shared local history and culture throughout the day while ensuring that the whole group saw key sights and had time to explore. Truly a wonderful experience.

Great tour

The tour was very well run. We didn’t have enough time to explore Pompeii properly, but that was inevitable because we were fitting so much in. Rob - our guide - was very knowledgeable and looked after us

Perfect start to our trip

Our guide, Ana, and our driver, Andre, were amazing! We learned interesting facts en route to Naples, and felt very safe on the narrow, winding roads up the mountain. The volcano is incredible if you can get to the top, but be prepared for quite a climb. Comfortable shoes and clothes are a must as it’s steep and rocky. Our guide at Pompeii was also amazing. So knowledgeable and funny - made the whole experience awesome. The complimentary lunch was great and super filling. Total recommend this tour. We had a great time.

Angela the tour guide was amazing. She added very interesting small facts that greatly enriched the experience for both myself and my daughter.

Trip to Pompeii from Rome

It rained on our day of traveling so plans were changed. The trip to Pompeii was very informative and interesting. The lunch was very touristy and not very authentic. I felt like I was in a cattle call. The stop at the lemincello factory was underwhelming. Very touristy. I’d change those things in the tour.
