Colosseum Arena Floor Tickets
Bypassing what can be an hours-long line, your skip-the-line tickets lets you quickly walk through the Death Gate onto the Colosseum Arena Floor, right where the gladiators fought. Take a moment to appreciate the impressive Roman amphitheater surrounding you, where 60,000 Romans of all classes would watch these epic fights to the death.
Here you will also see the ancient Roman version of season tickets. Take plenty of pictures as the views from the Arena Floor are worthy of a picture frame.
Roman Colosseum History
After the Arena Floor, you will visit the first and second tiers of the Colosseum where the wealthiest of Romans would sit. Learn about the history of this beautiful structure and how it has remained standing for close to 2,000 years.
In total, you will spend around 1.5 hours in the Colosseum before heading to the next portion of the tour.
Guided Roman Forum Tour
Across the street from the Colosseum, your guide will take you down into the ancient archaeological site where business and politics of the Roman Empire took place. As the former "downtown area" of Rome, you will see many ancient Roman buildings, including the Senate House (Curia), Temple of Julius Caesar, and the Arch of Titus.
After walking around the Forum and Colosseum, you will be ready for plenty of authentic Italian food and drink.
Roman Salumeria e Formaggeria
Your first stop will be at a family-owned Salumeria where you will sample prosciutto, cheese, and some local wine. This establishment has been serving locals for over 100 years, so they definitely know what they are doing.
Learn the difference between parmigiana and pecorino, and prosciutto and salami. Wash it all down with a local wine chosen specifically to enhance the flavors. We are positive you'll want to come here again before you leave the city.
Roman Street Food
Like many cities around the world, Rome has an amazing street food tradition. In the neighborhoods near the Tiber River, from which Trastevere gets its name, you will find wonderful fried fish to try with your small group. This amazing traditional food is found where we believe it is the best: Dar Filettaro.
An Authentic Roman Restaurant
After walking around all day, it is time for a relaxing, sit down dinner. Here you will be served an array of traditional Roman pastas as well as fine Italian wines. Before departing you will end dinner in the proper Italian manner with a digestivo—limoncello in this case.
The Best Organic Gelato in Trastevere
Why have dinner in Rome if it does not end with gelato? Whether its the heat of summer or dead of winter, there is nothing better than a cup—or cone—of the world's best ice cream. With flavors ranging from fruits to chocolate to coffee, your tour will end in the happiest of manners. Ciao!
This food tour will easily fill even the above-average eater on this tour. If you have food allergies or dietary restrictions, it’s important we know so we can do our best to accommodate them. Please email us immediately after you book so we can notify your guide. Our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and entertaining. And the food was phenomenal.
Food to die for
To be honest, I did this tour for the food. However, my family really wanted to do the Colosseum and with the limited time we had we had to make a compromise. The Colosseum was more interesting than I thought it would be, but let me tell you.. this food was to DIE for. Walking through the city was really pretty, but tasting the food was almost a religious experience for me. I'm not sure if I can ever eat pizza the same way again. You will absolutely not regret the tour.
Wonderful Tour
I planned my trip to Rome for tour reasons - the Colosseum and FOOD. This tour was great for us because we got to skip the line and visit the breathtaking Colosseum, and also got to experience the local cuisine/foodie scene in Rome. We left this tour happy and full!
Frequently Asked Questions
Where to meet?
Find your guide at the Green Souvenir Kiosk in front of the Colosseum metro stop, located just outside the lower level. A representative will be there holding a sign with our company name on it.
What to bring?
Archaeological sites normally have rocky terrain so wear comfortable sneakers. Bring sunscreen and a water bottle for hot summer months. During the food tour, you'll also walk between tasting stops.

Do the tasting stops on this tour ever change?
The tastings on this tour are subject to change due to seasonal/holiday venue closures. Since the places we frequent on this Rome food tour are local institutions and family-run businesses, they can close at any time with very little notice. In this situation, your knowledgeable guide will take you to another nearby eatery that's equally tasty.
What if I have food allergies, intolerances, or other dietary requirements?
Please contact us in advance so we can do our best to accommodate your needs. We will work with our tour partners to provide you with an alternative when possible.
First things first—how much wine do we actually get?
We promise at least three glasses of wine, but in many places, it is served by the carafe which is the typical family style of serving wine in Rome.
What if the Arena Floor is closed?
Sometimes the Colosseum closes down access to restricted areas with very little notice due to rain or some sort of repair going on. In this case, we will visit other areas and the tour will run with the same duration. Sorry, but we do not offer a refund if the Arena Floor is closed.
What if I have concerns about my mobility on this tour?
If you have any doubts about your mobility, we strongly suggest you take a comfortable Private Colosseum Tour.
What happens if it rains?
We run tours in rain or shine. In cases of heavy rainfall, the Colosseum management may close the Arena Floor at the last minute for safety. We do our best to make alternate Arena Floor arrangements, but we cannot guarantee a substitute date. If your group is subject to closures by the Colosseum and does not get access to the Arena Floor, we still continue on a 2.5-hour tour of the Colosseum and Roman Forum. There is no refund given if the Arena Floor is closed for this tour.
